On the red carpet at the CUN Dream Awards, young filmmaker Miranda Andersen discusses how getting involved with MY HERO led her to get into film. Miranda took part in a MY HERO educational workshop, in which she chose to write an essay about environmentalist Ruth Foster. That project so inspired Miranda that she went on to make her first film about Foster, which promptly won first place in the 2009 MY HERO Film Festival's Elementary School category. She won first place again in 2010 with her short documentary on Dr. Mary Hagedorn. Miranda credits MY HERO with giving her support and encouragement to make these films, and now looks forward to expanding her reach as a filmmaker and environmentalist.
