A profile of Mary Hagedorn's tireless efforts to repopulate the ocean's coral, an organism that is rapidly approaching extinction as a result of pollution and global warming. Mary Hagedorn is a senior scientist with the Smithsonian Institute and works out of Hawaii's Institute for Marine Biology at the University of Hawaii. She is attempting to help save the ocean's coral by cryogenically preserving coral in hopes of transplanting it back into the ocean when the coral is at risk in the future.
