The conflict in Darfur has left approximately a half a million civilians dead and 2.5 million civilians displaced. The Social Action Campaign for Darfur Now is focused on passage of Sudan divestment bills and improving the lives of those currently living in refugee camps in Chad through distribution of solar cookers, which allow women in the camps to cook food for their families without risking their lives to forage for wood, and building schools.
