TERRY FOX His name is Terry Fox and he ran across Canada to raise money for cancer research. He was born in the late fifty's and started running on April 12, 1980. The run was named the Marathon of hope. It started with Terry dipping his artificial leg into the Atlantic Ocean and then he set out on his journey.
Terry ran in for thirty seven days before he got sick and the cancer came back. Terry was to ill to continue and died a few months later. Over $250 million has been raised in Terry's name.
Terry tool one day off on Christmas becuse his mother Betty wanted him to. I like this hero because he was a Canadian who showed great courage. Every year in the month of September their is a run in his name called the Terry Fox run there are now more that 58 countries that get involved.
