I drew a portrait of Nex Benedict as a reminder of the bravery and heroism it takes to just show up every day as your authentic self. Nex set a precedent for thousands of queer youth to not allow extreme hate and violence to dim the bright light that you have to offer to the world. The memory of their bravery despite adversity will ring through the minds of and inspire those in their position, and will serve as a reminder to be who you truly are.
