MY HERO student reporter Andy visits the YouthCan Conference in New York City with his hero Rowena Gerber to present Paul Munsen's Solar Oven Project. Students are taught how to use solar ovens in order to cook food and show their work to other teachers from different schools. Teachers want to bring solar ovens to their own schools to teach their students about solar energy. The goal of the Solar Oven Project is to help people in foreign countries learn about solar ovens and the benefits of using them to cook rather than using wood. Solar ovens not only provide an easier and more sustainable way of cooking but it also is better for your physical health not cooking over a fire with wood.
