"Dear Basketball" was Kobe's retirement letter published in the Players Tribune then animated as a short 4 minute movie and ultimately won Kobe Bryant an Academy Award. Now, years later, Basketball finally replies with a poem: Dear Kobe "Love, Basketball"
Although I am not a player myself, Kobe Bryant was a neighbor of my family’s. I got to know him by running into him on multiple occasions around town.
I am a local poet (in Orange County) and I also serve as a Trustee at the Buena Park Library District. Kobe’s recent passing was particularly jarring to our community.
