Nelson Mandela was also, very influential in South Africa and in the whole world. 

Nelson Mandela was a very brave and wise man.  He was born on July 1918 and died on December 5 2013.  He was born in Mvezo, South Africa.  This is one of his amazing quotes " I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it.  The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear." 

Nelson Mandela had to go through difficulties all of his life.  He struggled with racism.  He also, had an all-white government.  Nelson Mandela went to Jail for 27 years.  He went to jail because the government wanted to shut up.  

Nelson Mandela had many major accomplishments.  He was the first black president of South Africa.  Another thing is that he was freed from prison.  He also, stopped racism in South Africa.  Which helped him win a Nobel Peace Prize.
