Jon Lambert, SCUN
This is a lesson for EFL students interested in studying world peace and fashion. Students practice speaking, listening, communication, creative thinking and lexis, while discussing the stories of Artist Hero Coco Chanel and Peacemaker Hero Leong Ung.
Step One: Questioning
"What do you know about Gabrielle Chanel and Loung Ung?" In pairs, students discuss.
In pairs, students ask and answer questions about each other's story. One student has HANDOUT A; the other has HANDOUT B.
(Teacher monitors and listens to students asking and answering the questions.) When Q & A is complete, teacher provides affective feedback and language feedback, and elicits self-correction and peer-correction.
Students do HANDOUT C individually, then check in pairs, then in open class.
Students use the language chunks to make questions for each other. Teacher monitors then provides affective feedback and language feedback.
