Description
With music by Ted and libretto by Ted and Lesley, Dear Erich was commissioned by the New York City Opera and had its premiere in 2019. It was inspired by Ted’s discovery and translation of over 200 letters written to Erich, Ted’s father, who escaped Nazi Germany as a student shortly before Kristallnacht.
