TERESA

The hero at which I have chosen is my mother Teresa. My personal definition of a hero is a person who would go out of their way to help someone else.

My mother and father got married many years ago and, my dad became a Minister. And my mother helped in the food and shelter programs at their church. So, she helped the homeless in that way. My parents later got a divorce and, then my mom became a Social Worker.

My mother enjoys her job as a Social Worker at a local nursing home. She has hands on experiences with the residents and she always ends up getting very attached to her residents. When she comes home after one had died she cries because of the closeness she has with her residents.

I've been having problems with my life. About six months ago I was raped and, I kept it from my mom. It started ruining my life. I turned to Drugs and Alcohol until about a month and a half ago and my mom caught me after one of my friends parents had called my mother and told her that I'd been getting drunk. I then told her about being raped and, everything else that had happened and she didn't get mad she was totally understanding about it. I feel that I now have better trust in her.

My mother overall is a very wonrderful person who is very caring of me and everyone around her and in my eyes she's a hero.
