For a group of Black Hmong women, their village of Lao Chai is an epoch away from the city of Hanoi. Their motivations to leave their village are connected to newfound economic opportunity and empowerment. This short documentary follows a group of eleven hill tribe women who have created tourism businesses. Critical to the success of their new businesses are the connections they have to make with the tour operators found in Hanoi. For many, this will be their first trip away from their homes. Their business sense and worldview will be tested as they embark on this transformative and eye-opening journey.
