In Spring 2025, The MY HERO Project proudly partnered with Ascot Elementary to bring the MY HERO Journalism and Filmmaking Workbook to life in a meaningful and dynamic way. Using this step-by-step guide, students learned the fundamentals of storytelling, interviewing, and filmmaking. They put these skills into action to create a powerful mini documentary featuring their beloved principal. With the support and mentorship of dedicated MY HERO educators, these young storytellers gained confidence behind and in front of the camera, transforming their classroom into a buzzing media hub. The project culminated in a moving and insightful film that not only showcases their principal’s leadership but also highlights the students’ creativity, collaboration, and growth as emerging filmmakers.
