Female Genital Mutilation is a traditional rite, which have been practice for centuries in most part of the world. This ritual has serious physical, medical and psychological consequences in most of the persons that have undergone this ritual. Some of the victims lost their lives in the process or after it was conducted. Today, the world have agreed that Female Genital Mutilation is a harmful traditional that must be stop; therefore most countries have passed a bill banning its practice as in the case of Senegal. Even though legislation is in place, some people still practice it. This is about the negative effects and consequences of Female Genital Mutilation.
