It was a Friday afternoon in a busy high school classroom in Portland, Oregon. The Black Student Union was organizing an event to recognize Trayvon Martin's birthday and the movement he contributed so much to, though involuntarily. Renee Mitchell, their tireless teacher, look so relieved to see me. The students wanted to have a video. By Monday. Three students and I spent the five hours before the event, shooting and editing this project. They were so proud of the finished piece.
