Fatou, a 17 years girl lives with her parents in village helping them with their domestic works. One day her elder sister who is a businesswoman in Dakar lives with her husband. She travels on business trips out of the country and needs someone to take care of her household. She then requested her mother to send Fatou so that she can help her with her household during her absents.
Fatou, once in the city, her sister’s husband started abusing sexual and eventually got pregnant. Her sister’s husband to protect himself and maintain his dignity advised Fatou to keep the pregnancy secret out of the public eyes. When she delivered the child her sister’s husband advised her to kill the newly born baby, which she did.
The secret got leaked and she was arrested and imprisoned for ten years.
