This video is about how America has never been the “land of the free” that it is constantly said to be. Built upon oppression, stolen land, and unpaid labor.
I feel as though the most obvious principle of this video is that many people are simply naive towards the struggles of this world. Choosing to be blind towards the hardships that many have no choice but to live through everyday, no matter the time. This video shows just how much we need a change.
This was made using Canva. As for techniques, to switch from clip to clip I used transitions, allowing them to smoothly fade into each other. But on rather intense clips I didn't place any transitions in order to give it a more dramatic and intense feeling, so it could have more of an effect on the viewer.
My goals as an artist is to not only inform the viewer of the real struggles of the world but to also inspire them to want to become more educated about the truth, and fully understand what has been done to others in the past, and that is still being done now, in current times in order to get where we are today. I feel as though this video was a great way to not only spread the message but to also influence others to want to push for a change.
