Sierra Leone
MY HERO has been helping to provide internet access, technology and media to enrich learning for students at the Children's Center for Technology in Sierra Leone. Students have learned to create media and publish their short films and music on the web site. MY HERO Global Outreach Educator - Mohamed Sidibay returned to Sierra Leone with a projector and laptop for Mendy Kanu the program director. Senegal
Principal Cheikh Darou Seck from Senegal has been an active partner in The MY HERO Project for over a decade. He has participated in media arts education training workshops and educational conferences around the globe discovering and sharing how to use our online story telling platform to celebrate heroes in the community and around the globe. This photo shows his students in Dakar viewing a suitcase of media resources delivered from a volunteer who learned of MY HERO while attending a The Rotary Club World Peace Conference 2020 in California. So many people contribute to this educational program, time, resources, and inspiring media. The students working with Cheikh Darou Seck over the last decade have made award winning short films honoring heroes working to protect the environment, they have celebrated women and youth working for positive change.
