MY HERO NAMES 2023 PEOPLE'S CHOICE NOMINEES
OCTOBER 12, 2023 - LAGUNA BEACH, CA - The MY HERO Project is happy to announce the finalists for the 2023 People’s Choice Award. The Award, which is part of The MY HERO International Film Festival, is chosen each year by Pubic Ballot and the winner is announced online.
This is a great way for families and teachers to introduce the themes of heroes and heroism to young people and open a discussion on perseverance and making a positive difference in the world. Watch the block of short films, which can easily be completed within a classroom session, and have participants vote for their favorite.
The MY HERO Teacher’s Guide offers tips for using the films to create a positive learning experience. The ballots for 2023 will be launched later this month.

Collins ReaganMinistry of Surf, by Collins Reagan, offers an intimate look inside the healing power of water & surfing on autistic children.
Manuel Gussmann Greenwashing Fast Fashion's Dirty Laundry Into Art, by Manuel Gussmann, shows a stunning transformation of discarded clothing into a powerful art installation.
by Care DorghalliDown the Road, an excerpt by Care Dorghalli, tells the story of Woody and Luna, who generously help people in need after the Paradise fire."
Izzy SodenBeyond the Brush, by Izzy Soden, is a short documentary film that offers a glimpse into the life of a painter working in a small village in Guatemala.
Anabelle VoKeiko Fukazawa, by Anabelle Vo, shows how Keiko Fukazawa uses her art to address gun violence — an issue that has greatly impacted the quality of life in America.
Kira O'BoyleLos Guardianes, by Kira O'Boyle, is a story of two brothers in Mexico, who work to conserve the ancient Maya practice of raising stingless bees.
