Description
On August 24, 2019 a group of volunteer lawyers from Lawyers For Good Government walked across the border at Matamoros, Mexico to help asylum seekers prepare the paperwork for their court dates. They were sent back across the border after being in detention in the 'icebox' due to President Trump's Remain In Mexico program, known as MPP.
The lawyers saw 130 asylum seekers in 100 degree weather. They brought a pregnant woman and two families with children who have Down Syndrome across the border.
