Star Shine is an animated 3D short film that harnesses a cutting-edge CG pipeline to deliver an emotional and awe-inspiring experience. At the heart of our filmmaking philosophy is a commitment to story above all else—if the narrative calls for something, we find a way to make it happen. This approach drives our use of a wide range of software and tools, guided by the belief that technology should always serve storytelling. We recognize that each program has unique strengths, and when the time cost of learning and integration is reasonable, we fully incorporate them into our production process. Our pipeline includes ZBrush for organic character sculpting; Maya for hard surface modeling, retopology, rigging, animation, and cloth simulation; and Blender for look development using procedural texturing, scene assembly, and final rendering with the Cycles engine. Blender’s city and crowd add-ons also enabled us to create vast cityscapes and stadium shots, enhancing the scale and immersion of the film.
