The MY HERO Journalism & Filmmaking Workbook is a comprehensive guide to creating hero-themed films. With step-by-step instructions, and essential resources, the workbook simplifies the process of filmmaking and gives storytellers of all ages an opportunity to be heard.

About the Authors:
The book is written by Jonah Steinhart, in collaboration with renowned educator and author Esther Wojcicki. Wojcicki has played a pivotal role in inspiring the next generation of journalists. She founded the Journalism Education Program, which received national acclaim, at California’s Palo Alto High School. She is, also, the author of two inspiring books that promote project-based learning and fostering independence and critical thinking skills. Wojcicki also offers the annual ‘WOJ’ Youth Reporter Award at the MY HERO International Film Festival.
Jonah Steinhart, a former student of Wojcicki, is recognized as an outstanding journalism and film educator in the San Francisco Bay Area. His expertise and dedication have played a significant role in making this workbook a valuable resource for aspiring filmmakers. Steinhart also had support from a team of media arts educators and the MY HERO team.
About the WOJ Youth Reporter Award:
Presented by Esther Wojcicki, this award encourages students to use their creativity and voice to highlight positive change. Awards are presented to elementary, middle, high school, and college-age participants. The deadline to submit a film for this award is September 1st.
