Jessica is the founder of Video Volunteers (VV), a human rights media organization and one of the world’s largest alternative media platforms. VV has had a real life impact on people from India's most marginalized communities.
Since 2003, VV has put the power of the camera in the hands of community journalists to keep government accountable and to ignite cultural change. In this interview with Marc Ostrick, Jessica discusses the need for people to tell their own stories to solve problems in their community, as well as how this successful model has implications for the future of media.
